Sacred Lomi Massage® was developed by Tom Cochran and Donna Jason from Hawaiian Temple Bodywork, a form of Lomi Lomi massage from ancient Polynesians. Lomilomi has a number of meanings, most common which is simply "to massage". One of the alternate names for Lomi Lomi is "Loving Hands" massage.
This massage works gently into the muscles with continuous, flowing strokes, totally nurturing the body. It enables the recipient to relax, let go and simply be.
The massage is given in fluid, rhythmic motions, using mainly forearms and hands. Different parts of the body might be massaged simultaneously. It is impossible for the brain to focus on two different areas at once, and this allows the recipient to relax and to experience a deep sense of balance and harmony.
The massage practice integrates physical and energetic healing techniques such as breath, the power of the present moment - Makawa, Aloha (Love) and Sacred Space.
